DIY Succulent Arrangements

This was a lot of fun. Bought some shallow pots, small succulents, cactus potting soil and colored rocks and arranged them the way I wanted. It's fun to play around with height, color and texture. Pots and plants from California Cactus in Pasadena and Pot-Ted in Atwater.

It's totally awesome. You could sell that for like seventy bucks.

funny you should say that- i was in the west village yesterday and walked into a designer floral shop- and they were selling nearly identical arrangements...for $90. i thought damn i could make that myself - and look, you already did!

$90?! What a ripoff. This was soo easy to make, it's not even funny. I suppose you have to go to the trouble of buying the bits and pieces, but once you do it's a cinch. This little guy set me back $25 (half of which was the cost of the pot).

Maybe there is a life for me outside of corporate america...

I like succulents. They don't need much water and are friendlier than cacti. I think you found your niche!

Ah! It cost you $25, plus your time, so say $20, 100% market up for the retail, and you get $90?

Its amazing what we get when we do things ourselves. But if you dont wanna do it, you best pay for it, and not call it a rip off.
